This is the updated version of the powerfull video "Giving Birth-Challenges and Choices". It covers the scientific evidence about the importance of the process of birth, how babies are born, and the value of normal birth-for both the mother and the baby. It includes comments from 3 obstetricians, a labour and delivery nurse, a doula, a caesarean mother, and a midwife with 25 years of experience attending home births. It explores issues of prenatal care, overcoming fear, coping with pain in labour, epidural anaesthesia, caesarean surgery, routine hospital procedures, and being empowered in birth. It shows a natural birth on a birthing stool and a water birth.
