Effective Prenatal Education Program
An intensive five-day course for health professionals

Developing skills in facilitating effective prenatal education sessions is essential in these days of "informed choice" and increasing consumer awareness of birth related issues.

This Course, a module in the Graduate Diploma in Childbirth Education, is being offered in a stand alone, intensive format. The Course involves 40 hours of interactive, experiential learning in an intensive workshop, followed by two assessment tasks and will enable participants to:

  • develop skills in the principles of adult learning, facilitation of groups, effective presentation and basic counselling, acquire innovative teaching strategies and explore a variety of learning activities.
  • explore different models of prenatal education programs and design appropriate to meet client needs.
  • incorporate the essentials of informed choice and evidence based care into parent education programs.

A pre-reading package will be sent to participants one month before the Workshop, and participants will be also be issued with a reading list, and sources of other useful materials.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to join a select group of educators and gain outstanding experience and skills. Numbers are strictly limited to a maximum of 20 in each group to ensure personal attention, so register early to ensure your place.
